You have thrown too many tasks at your "just woke up" self, and now you're having to karate chop all those tasks. Like you're setting yourself up to remember 50 subjects at once right on wake up.

Or something.

I haven't woken up to an alarm clock in a while, i just get really on edge/alert when i hear that beeping.

As you are talking about the rush you get just from hearing the beeping, I agree with many in this discussion regarding conditioning. You probably get a bit pumped up because of the way you associate the noise of an alarm clock. They also tend to make a pretty jarring sound. Even if you don't associate the noise of an alarm with anything; they are meant to sound alarming.

If you feel like it, reading some articles regarding circadian rhythms, zeitgebers, and blood plasma epinephrine concentrations might be fun, though not entirely relevant to what you are asking in this post.

Well the alarm sound was chosen for its ability to cause people to wake up. So it's a sound that just makes humans be alert. I guess you could fight your genetics if you want.

Its a conditioned response. You have been awakened by the clock probably 100s of times and now your body associates the sound with time to start the day. Lets go bother Ivan Pavlov.

I honestly get the same feeling. I hate being scared or getting scared when certain things vibrate or alarm. It's probably due to traumatizing moments but gosh, I really gotta get over that shit. lol

if you have any idea what psychological association is, then thinking about it for about 30 seconds will provide you the answer.

the beeping surprises you and wakes you up. the sound therefore surprises you.
