Nowhere is anyone saying that they will be legally banned from selling or owning these flags. Just some stores are deciding not to sell them.

Another way of looking at this: Cooter has been selling the same merchandise for 30 years to fans of the show, and when press extortionists call him on it because it's out of fashion this week, he doesn't bend to their efforts.

The VA county I live in a few people now want to take down a confederate battle flag at a historical site where the north and south actually fought because it's now on county property.

I saw every episode (except Coy and Vance era...3 people here know what I'm taking about) and no minorities were ever portrayed as negative stereotypes. Only hillbillies.

Oh, and maybe the occasional out of town Italian mobster.
