The kid is fat, but he has muscular dystrophy, which is why he's in a wheelchair. Not sure that his weight has anything to do with the need for renovations. Any kid with that would need accessibility in their home, no? No fat sympathy here, but we're talking about a child with a legitimate disability, not just a lard ass who doesn't want to huff and puff up his stairs. Unless I've missed something? The only fat problem in this story is that his parents allowed his weight to get so high. But the fund raising had nothing to do with his weight.

Brothers need final $30k to make their home wheelchair accessible - Toronto - CBC News

'Adam said, once their fundraising is done, he hopes to sell lemonade to help other children who need to make their homes more accessible. '

'When life handed two brothers from Warren Park lemons, they made lemonade — lots of it — for a good cause: raising money to make their home wheelchair accessible. '

'The Abu-Hewaydis have been hoping to install an accessible bathroom and elevator to make life easier — a $122,000 wish list. '

'"I always see my brother struggling, and I always think about what can help him," his 10-year-old brother Omar said. '

'Loblaws eventually offered to supply the boys with lemonade and cups, and ended up writing them a cheque for $15,000. '
