This is not amazing. If you want something that nothing will live on get SILVER. I personally buy a lot of silver as a commodity, and just from being around it and buying it I know that nothing can live on it. It will tarnish, but thats about it. Its why silverware is called silverware. Its why silver plates, cups, flasks, etc, etc, etc.
Copper on the other hand has some similar properties, BUT, was used for a very long time because it is easy to forge into something. NOT for any other reasons. Thats actually one of the big reasons silver and gold have always been sought after too. They are very ductile. Copper is looked at as an inferior metal, and one of the most basic and easy to obtain or work with of any. I could cold work a copper pipe into a copper knife if I wanted on my anvil. If you mix copper with tin, you get an alloy stronger than either of the metals by themselves called BRONZE. As people found better metals they stopped using the old ones for the same uses. Bronze gave way to Iron as most know. Copper is actually what the Egyptians used to chisel out their stonework. Took tons of copper per day for some projects, but the majority was recycled from worn out chisels.
Silver on the other hand is by far one of the best metals to stop you from getting sick. For wounds people have pretty much always used salt. Salt is actually very good for wounds, especially stuff that is puss producing because it will dry it out and make it harden up. I have personally used it and found its better than ointments for things like burns. It does hurt, but only for a few minutes. Its good for you anyway.
Poor countries use copper because they cannot afford things like micro ban surfaces which are going to work better than copper, and I believe even better than silver. They dont use solid copper, so it is not very heavy or expensive. Just like most SILVER flatware people have is NOT silver, its only silver plated. I know because I buy silver from people when they have bulk, and the majority of people trying to sell their "silver" ware do not even have real silverware. I wont even drive anywhere unless I see hallmarks, or know the person knows what they are talking about.
If copper was as superior as this claims, people would have been using copperware. People did use a lot of bronze chamber pots, and vases, pots, and other things, but its not the best. Better than iron though since I dont think anyone would want a rusty shit pot. Thats what it really came down too. Copper is good at not oxidizing. Silver is superior when it comes to these anti bacterial properties. Silver CAN poison you too BTW and kill you, but not many forms people deal with are soluble in any way. So dont go filing your 1964 and earlier 90% coins into ointment. I you want to heal a wound the way people have for thousands of years, just get yourself a bag of sea salt and have at it! You even get that iodine in there with Salt! Either that or start cartarizing your cuts. I have cartarized wounds too on myself, and I would sugges tthe salt.
I have probably 150lbs of copper right now BTW. Im not anti copper. I have a lot of room, and hoard all metals I know are valuable. I have aluminum, gold, platinum, palladium, etc. Its my hedge against the dollar inflating. The weaker our currency gets, the more my metals are worth. The stronger the dollar, the less they are worth. Over time the one thing you can always bet on is the dollar will be worth less, and things will cost more.
Reading these comments makes me think I should invest in large amounts of tinfoil for hat production.

"Egyptians used copper chisels to carve out their artwork".
Dynastic or Pre-Dynastic? You are aware of the overwhelming evidence of "Egyptians" claiming the work of other such as carving into granite they found that was already formed right?
Plastic is cheaper than copper and it's not feasible for anyone to sue a hospital based on the fact that they neglected to implement copper. That's my Occam's razor of the day.
Interesting article. Thanks for posting. I knew about silver, but not copper. Now that superbugs are threatening to return us to the pre-antibiotic era, maybe a return to the old techniques is needed.

Because cleaning copper is a Giant pain in the ass and costly. France also banned aluminum cooking pans because they thought it cause Alzheimers, which is doesn't

Careful hats used to use mercury in production wouldn't want to go mad there, actually in silver as well.
