Yes but blaming journalists for what neoliberal owners are demanding is like accusing banks personnel for the deeds of the banksters .
Neoliberal elites don't give a flying one about democracy , equality , fraternity or the rule of law they only want their narrative to be pushed at all costs and when you are a poor fucking journalist you will do as you are told or your career will be over.

I do sympathize with the struggle of a journalist having to answer to the agenda of an owner or editor, BUT they chose that field and that field has had a poor reputation since its inception. Bank tellers are usually proles who have figured out a way to not have to work outside.
