Should be title "in 46 years" not "for 46 years". If convicted he'll get a maximum of 4 months in jail or a fine.

I just copied and pasted the title of the article. Even then I don't think so, I read it as intended. Maybe if it had said convicted instead of charged I'd agree with you.

I wasn't blaming you, I just thought the the title from the article was confusing. I had to read the article several times, I thought the wording was misleading.

He should be charged with air pollution, not blasphemy.

Right. I don't think they had islam in mind when writing said law.

What if I bury a copy of the Quran in a swamp? Is that off limits?

Danish man charged with blasphemy after burning a Koran | Daily Mail Online

"Under clause 140 of Denmark's penal code, publicly insulting or degrading religious books is punishable with imprisonment or fines."

'A Danish man has been charged with blasphemy after he allegedly burned a copy of the Koran and posted a video of the incident on Facebook. '

'The 42-year-old suspect burned the Koran in his backyard in northern Denmark in December and posted the video on an anti-Muslim Facebook page. '

'Only four blasphemy prosecutions have ever been attempted in Denmark, but the country decided to keep its blasphemy law two years ago after carrying out a review. '

'There have also been several others cases that have been considered by prosecutors, before they ultimately decided not to bring charges. '

This has been an automated message.

This is why secularism is a fucking joke....as soon as a dominant religion comes along, its game over, they will submit.

Secularism, in practice, right now in 2017, is just another way of spreading you ass for Islam.

well he did break the LAW you know. a whole lot of people use the "its the law" excuse against some of my stances. well if those arguments are legitimate, than they are legitimate in this case as well.

Yes, but some laws are not applied. In the UK it is illegal to deface or deliberately scar a coin but no-one is ever convicted of this crime.

Perhaps what needs to happen now is another Dane should burn a copy of the bible and post it on facebook, then we will see what happens.

Everything is illegal. They've done it on purpose. You'd have to be like some kind of fucked up lawyer that knows all the laws not to do anything illegal. The purpose is to have a reason to punish and silence anyone you want.

"... first person in Denmark to be charged with blasphemy in 46 years ..."

So no one broke the law in 46 years? You believe that? There IS selection going on, this has nothing to do with law enforcement / correctness anymore.
