Just had an idea. What if each question could be slotted into a category? Or labeled? For example, if you asked a question about politics, maybe it would be labeled "politics." If you asked a question about science it would be labeled "science." And so forth. Besides the aesthetics, I'm not entirely sure whether people would find this useful. I guess it could make it easier to scan questions.

I'd like for it to toggle between light and dark with the night mode button. The previous dark theme was annoying on my PC.

For a logo you could use the triangles in the Voat logo as points for a question mark, something like
V¿▲o▼?t (but then as a logo, you probably know what I mean)
I like Google's material design, so that being implemented into askvoat would be nice.

I have Disable custom subverse styles selected in my settings as I want Voat to be free of distraction. I also don't want subs dictating if I can up/downvote content and I don't want to see "funny" comment manipulation like a few subs were doing back over at reddit.
All I want of Voat is for it to be clean, quick and functional with quality content and discussion.

I also really like how the threads come out on /v/osu if you hover over them with your mouse. Further, the fact that your points show up if you hover over your username is neat. The problem there is that the lettering is too large. The background on that sub is too invasive for a sub like askvoat - this is where I prefer the sharp and basic format of /v/youtube.

I'm very satisfied with the look of it right now.

Please don't let it negatively affect night mode.

Honestly, I prefer to keep the default voat style. It's simple, clean, and doesn't distract me from the content/questions/answers.
I use night mode, and some of the subs have styles that highlight topics in white. Kinda cancelling out night mode.

With the day/night mode and (as far as I know) no way to detect it, any major changes are probably going to break one of the two.

This is why @Shiny should have included his work, then people would see how good he is and wouldn't be afraid of a new CSS.
