Hey, thanks for asking this question of us, and taking our opinions. I'm fine with a neutral design. When I was on reddit I'd just leave it plain. For me, I'm more concerned with the content. I see that you guys have updated this sub's rules, which is pretty cool of the moderators I feel. You've all been doing a pretty good job.

I believe that is standard throughout Voat and couldn't be changed anyways with CSS.

All I ask is that you don't make it the dark theme by default, I've had to disable custom styles as a result of the theme on this sub.
night mode and dark themes are find for those who want it, however I imagine most would prefer a lighter easier to look at theme.. My left eye is also a lot weaker than my right and I found it a real strain to read anything with the dark theme.

You should probably link to the other stuff you have already made, because it shows how good you are and can provide the community with ideas.
That being said I really like https://voat.co/v/youtube for it being sharper than the rounded stuff that is the standard right now.

I know one change I wished you would make but its not specifically about the look of the subverse. Right now comments are defaulted to TOP and you have to press new to see the new comments. This set up just makes the rich get richer. Could you maybe swap it around so it defaults to NEW and not top?

The CSS can't do that, but your idea has been suggested in /v/ideasforvoat.
It should look like the Riddlers notepad.
Just a lame suggestion, I like the page layout on voat it's very clean and legible.
It would be nice to have some style applied that made it apparent immediately that you had landed on askvoat That doesn't detract from the content.
I'm just a casual I'm sure whatever you do will all be in the best possible taste.

Google's Material Design could actually look really nice. It would be good for a major sub to have a different style from the default one.
