'An advert made by a supermarket chain famous for its viral campaigns has been criticised for fat shaming. ', "German supermarket chain Edeka's new campaign called 'Eatkarus' is has caused controversy only a few days after its release."

'The supermarket chain provides more than just the message alone. '

Just applause. Seriously, that was awesome. They really captured the whole "crabs in a bucket" mentality. I realize it will never happen but I would love, love, love for something like that to air where I am (one of the fattest parts of the US). It brings tears of joy to my eyes just thinking about the mass triggering that would cause.

German shitlady here. Edeka (biggest German supermarket chain) is well-known for its good advertising, but this one tops everything they ever did. That ad went fairly viral, but nobody's reeing about fatphobia because the message of the clip is just the truth. Most supermarkets advertise their low prices (and how much processed lazy-ass bullshit you can get for your Euros), Edeka never does. They always emphasize the quality of their products, and that's how it is - they're not cheap, but high-quality.

The look on the ham mother's face as she tries to be an enabler to her son. Holy fuck, spot on.

When you take the portrayal of fictional characters who are absurdly fat personally, maybe it's time to consider that you're the one at fault here.
