Well, we don't actually know for certain as the public doesn't have access to the deal. The fears based on previous free trade agreements are that we'll see more jobs moving overseas, further stagnation of the economy as more people are out of work, cheaper prices on imported goods, and the possibility of corporations being able to sue and overturn consumer and environmental protections that "negatively affect their profits".

My god, is this as horrifying as it has sounded? Is this the thing that will eliminate altogether the remaining line between corporations and politics? It just seems like with the TPP, we're completely done pretending that people still have some power to control things, and we're just giving corporations--none of whom have our best interest anywhere near their agendas--total control over anything they see fit to control, with no remaining check or control against them. Is that really what this is?
