In the traditional senses of the word, I would suppose so.
As long as you are not directly harming someone else, against their will, then I don't care what you do.
To an extreme degree.
If someone periodically cut off part of their own body and ate them for no other reason than it was something to do, I wouldn't want to stop them by force.
That being said, there are plenty of things going on in society right now I don't personally agree with and would prefer if people did not do.
Trans anything but gender is bullshit. There is science to support the idea that alterations to prenatal hormone levels or mutations in certain hormone receptors can cause brain/body sex mismatches, but no science to support anything else.
You are not fucking demi-sexual, you aren't [animal]kin, your gender doesn't swap back and forth, its not fluid, and your "asexuality" is likely just a symptom of a treatable issue.
Being fat is a sign of weakness and not desirable in any way.
Kinks and bdsm relationships that extend outside of a "scene" or sex act disturb me as well. I've been a dom often in my life, but after we're done, I'm not your fucking owner or caretaker.
The one that really pisses me off though, is people who believe polyamory is like a sexual orientation. No, its a fucking choice, a choice I make and agree with, but still a choice.
If you "come out" to a monogamous partner as poly and present it as some unalterable state of being you just discovered in yourself, you're full of shit.
If you've already start practicing polyamory before "coming out" to a mono partner you are shit.
I've always been "poly," even before I knew that word was how people described the behavior. I just date people that agreed with such a level of independence and personal freedom. I've enjoyed various kinks. I've done weird shit.
However, as I've grown older I've had more run ins with the "poly" community, the "bdsm/kink" community, etc and have found them all incredibly distasteful. Mostly just fat, whiny, losers with not personality looking for something to define themselves by. They have nothing outside of these groups and -isms they latch onto.
So, while I may be socially liberal, I don't like to call myself such due to its associations with things like what I described.

Me too.

I'm not sure that's a very strong argument, as scientists know hopelessly little about biology.

The good ones do. There's an inner and outer circle, like most scenes. If you're in some shit club - or, worse, a dating site - you'll find the fat ones, but a lot of people are amazing and talented.

Knowing a relatively small amount of all there is to know doesn't mean that current theories can't be accurate.

I've found the majority of the good ones don't go to the clubhouse.
I am pro-gun and pro-choice.
I am an atheist, so I don't want my taxpayer dollars going to religious things or religious laws enacted on me.
I do not care about anyone's sexual orientation or sexual lifestyle preference, but I only believe in two genders, male (XY) and female (XY). Any other "genders" are mental illness.
I think anyone should be able to marry any other human, regardless of gender.
I do think there is a wage gap between genders, however I feel that difference is offset by societal norms that require/encourage men to assume the costs of courting a female and that the extra pay is a bonus for not taking maternity leave. Until those societal norms change, the pay difference is mostly justified.
Every American Citizen should have equal access to every public resource they qualify for. Illegals should have zero.

I don't know. It depends on the subject.
The biggies are: Pro abortion, pro guns, pro gay rights, pro legalized weed, other drugs, etc., and I'm generally against income redistribution, but only to a point, and that's more of a fiscal thing anyway.

I would say I'm socially 'don't ask don't tell.' If gays want to have their own little community, that's fine - but don't bother the rest of us for money and sympathy when you die of aids.
Basically, minorities of every type can exist, but don't expect for a minute that we'll bend over to accommodate for you. You follow our rules and you better act right, or else.

Exactly, people can't care that you're gay or whatever if they never know.

Nice. When do we ship them off to live there?

Yeah. Aside from the fact that I'm pro-gun and pro-free speech (not that the right has never tried to take that away,) I'm extremely socially liberal. I'm somewhat economically liberal, though I do believe socialism and communism are naive.

I consider myself strongly economically liberal but yeah I definitely think the extreme of everything socialized or everything privatized is a folly. I think some stuff is better with government control, some stuff is better with government staying out of it and some things should have a mix of both. Like, I want the government to control the prisons as opposed to private ones, but feel like the government doesn't need to regulate content of art like video games and movies. Something like utilities I think there is room for the private sector to help, but definitely needs to be heavily regulated and the companies need to be kept on a short leash and held accountable by the government.

I won't stop you from being gay, trans or whatever but I think that the nuclear family is superior and that most if not everyone would be better of living that way. But I think it's counterproductive to make laws against such. 100% secular, I don't think that any religion should get state fund etc. I'm pro choice. I'm for strict immigration control. I don't like identity politics, and this include "right wing" identity politics such as racial identity, though I recognize that there is more trust in communities that are homogeneous.
I'm from Sweden

I'd say moderately socially liberal and extremely economically liberal. Probably extreme socially liberal compared to most of voat, though.

Can I ask why you think you are entitled to other people's money?
[–] musicalbaboon 0 points 2 points 2 points (+2|-0) ago
I personally argue for welfare as everyone benefits. Business owners are better when everyone can afford to purchase their products (we know that for the rich, after a point you stop spending money on consumables and put it into investments and shit). Everyone is better off if we don't have homeless everywhere, if we don't have people turning to crime to get a meal. I currently get welfare whilst I'm studying. The numbers show that, when I get a job out of my degree (it's not in gender studies), I will pay back more in tax over my lifetime than I would if I'd simply stayed on the career path my lack of degree would lead to.
It also seems to be the case that, for those in long term poverty, it's a fuck load harder to get back into the workforce. Just imagine going to job interviews in an ill fitting goodwill suit, shoes that can no longer be cleaned up... Most jobs also require having your own transport. Selling the car to pay for heat makes you unemployable. It's also expected that you would have a phone and internet access. Having the money to be able to afford these sorts of things means people can get back into the workforce.
You just have to make sure welfare puts people above poverty, but not comfortable. You also need to make sure it comes with some enforceable efforts to get back into the work force.
Similar arguments exist for universal health care. You want people to go to their GP at the first sign of trouble, when an issue can be fixed with one prescription, not show up in the ER 3 months later when the cost of intervention goes up exponentially.
