What the lefties will never understand is choosing to privatize these programs has little to do with saving money (although it will) and more to do with breaking ties between the established government elites and thier propaganda factories. Public radio that acts as if it is funded by the public alone through pledge drives shouldn't need any government funding. They should answer only to the public and if the public gets sick of the endless lefty mind control and stops donating money than it and any other program like it should go under. If the public is no longer entertained and has woken up to the fact that it is NOT informative than it should fail and not be saved by government funding. The left will never understand this because they still think it's news and not using government money to keep it running is irresponsible. The opposite is true. We don't need NPR telling us how to think and if they want to keep trying then the leftist can pay for with donation. My taxes are not needed.

I got a great idea. If he thinks this stuff is so good he can go raise the money him self. Yeah but that would eat into his rioting time.

Even better, he can boost their budget ten times for the price of a hamburger! Talk about value.

I do think things like The National Endowment for the Arts are really important. Same with the PBS and NASA budgets.

There are so many money wasting fed programs. It has become a joke. Watch the government auction websites and see what has been surplused. Then there's the surplus property the fed won't sell that costs billions in tax money to maintain every year.

Is this "calculation" done using total population or total registered taxpayers? 2 totally different results depending on which value is used.

Yeah, I thought of that, but even if you multiply the figures by three it's still tiny. The flaw in the argument isn't the math, no matter what way you cut it these programs cost very little per person. The problme is the assumption that, because they're cheap, they must be worthwhile, or at least more worthwhile than what that money would otherwise have been spent on (apparently hipster cheese in this case).

A guy in the comments made a great counterargument: "Why not take 1 cent from everyone in the US and give me the $3 million. After all, it only costs a penny."

My second favorite argument is when artists claim their first amendment right would be infringed if the government didn't pay for them to throw paint at a canvas like a gorilla and proclaim it's social commentary.

Fuck the Corporation for Public Broadcasting, it's a left wing propaganda machine. Also fuck the Legal Services Corporation. Its real aim is to erode our property rights in the name of "social equity".

Lol, right. Clearly he's shopping in some organic, hand-grown supermarket most people can't afford while lecturing them about how they should be willing to be stolen from.

Yeah I stopped once I realized he was trying to lecture us on why the government should be funding all these things they are not required to fun. Like ok dude, why dont YOU fund them if youre so rich? Thats how it used to work, Rich people were Patrons of Art etc etc, thats how you got Beethoven, Mozart etc etc etc. RICH people made these geniuses possible, period. Not governments.
