eh....the numbers are out there. Headsets are selling.... 20-30 million cardboards and 10 millions Rift/vives and gears in the last 8 months, devs are making money in the stores (about half of those headsets are actively in use, except for the cardboard units.... no one really knows how many of those are in use, but the rumors are "not very many" ), 360 video is the number one consumer VR app at the moment. VR in education is making huge inroads in the last six months. It's happening.... Vr has only been consumer facing for only 8 months now. Folks forget that....

If you think VR is just strapping a TV to your face, then you haven't tried real VR. You just watched a low rez 3D video on your phone with the screen enclosed to isolate it and keep it at a set distance from your face. That's not really VR any more than an old school Viewmaster is VR.
