As usual I just wish we would stop policing the world. The fact that the US president has to Greenlight something that is clearly china's and thaiwans business is just frustrating from the start.

The "One China Policy" has been in place for how many presidents?
The issue has always been mainland China trying to take / assimilate
Taiwan by force, which the U.S. has always warned against. I don't
see this policy being changed.
I'm calling B.S. on the nyslimes.

There's no fucking way I can support this. China does not need to grow larger, and even more people being subject to the PRC's inherently tyrannical rule is not a good thing.

Trump Tells Xi Jinping U.S. Will Honor ‘One China’ Policy - The New York Times

'His involvement was noteworthy because he had pledged, in written answers to questions after his Senate confirmation hearing, to uphold the One China policy. '

'Trump defended the call by saying he did not know why the United States should be bound by the One China policy. '

'Trump publicly reaffirm his commitment to the One China policy as a way of breaking the deadlock and getting the two presidents back on the phone. '

'Trump said he was prepared to pull back from the pact unless Tokyo did more to reimburse the United States for defending Japanese territory. '

'Trump advocated a 45 percent tariff on Chinese exports to the United States, complaining that China manipulated the value of its currency. '
