It's better than ever in reality.

Yesterday I held the door for a black guy at a convenience store. He said thanks and smiled at me. I went in side and saw a little hispanic girl with her mom. She was asking for candy while her mom paid for gas. Her mom kept saying no and the kid kept asking, ya know, kid stuff. The little girls looked at me so I waved and said hi, she smiled but then got shy and moved closer to her mom who looked at me and also smiled.

I don't know, It seems to me that people spend way too much time getting pissed off about stuff they see on a screen and dont spend enough time interacting with people.

I'm seeing it the same way. I grew up in an area of the country where racism was rampant and I didn't know it until I was 10 and brought home my new friend who was a black girl. My parents were divorced. My mom didn't care, but my dad lectured me and it was the first time I'd ever heard that skin color made you different. It's never phased me because I trusted my mom rather than my abusive father.

I live in a part of the country, now, where there are people of all races and cultures living in my apartment complex. We smile and say "hi" to one another. I am so glad I've not been exposed to all that micro aggression crap I keep hearing about. I smile and meet everyone's eyes when I pass. My team at work is all kinds of people and I just had to stop to think about it lol. It just so doesn't matter in day to day life, at least not to me. I assume it's that way for most people that I interact with.

I guess we are the only ones not bogged down in racial turmoil.
