I share your hated for commercials. I personally don't really watch anything new. I have an awesome vhs, DVD, and blu Ray collection of mostly old movies (40s to 90s).

I usually watch foreign films. I like watching South Korean films and some old Hong Kong films. Even Hollywood remakes film from overseas. The Departed was a remake of a Hong Kong Film called Infernal Affairs. Crap Hollywood is doing another remake of the Ring called Rings. Hollywood doesn't care about good movies because creative accounting makes sure they never really lose money.

Not to long ago, you could laugh at SJW's openly. Their ideas couldn't survive in an open marketplace. So they changed tactics - if you can't join 'em, beat 'em - and they started a campaign of high level infiltration in order to impose their narrative, censorship, and to change the accepted definitions of their pet terms. Their end game is to control the laws and forcibly change the culture in a sweeping Marxist Revolution.
They have been successful infiltrating European and Canadian governments - and just about got the US government in November.
They've been very successful in infiltrating universities, and have used them as their primary forward bases into society.
They have also shockingly been able to pass laws to change definitions - rape, for instance, includes "morning regret" in universities, and they seek to change that on the legal system as well. In Canada, they are changing the hate speech laws to force citizens to use certain words demanded by the trans community.
And they have been using the entertainment industry as their main propaganda machine until today's children are grown and manifest the promise of the indoctrination program that is public education.
We need to fight loudly and push back against their deconstruction of free thought and free speech. That is their ultimate goal - the end of free thought and speech in the Western world, and jail for dissenters.
On a happier note, Bittorrent is the new Library of Alexandria... It is the entertainment vault of the gods. It could be the ultimate library of human knowledge and art, but corporate interests seek to destroy it. It is as if Gutenberg was arrested and his printing presses burned. Fuck Hollywood - for all their moaning about piracy, they continue to make record profits. But they're so greedy that they can't then just put it all in the library. Fuck it, I just download everything.

I watch old movies. There's been nothing worth buying an admission ticket in years.

Mad max: fury road was the last movie I saw in theatres. Have to say it was well worth it

I watched to Catch a Thief the other night. Cary Grant, Princess Grace Kelly. Great watch. Today I have The Great Escape and Bullitt to watch. And if there is STILL football shit on, Le Mans. Steve McQueen Sunday.

Isn't that such a great movie? I had such a crush on Grace Kelly after the first time I watched it. I've watched the Great Escape with my grandfathers, too. It was awfully long, and maybe a little formulaic, but still a good watch.

That's why I love Alamo Drafthouse. Saw Bullitt on 35mm a couple of years ago, while drinking Bullit Rye, and only paid $6 for the ticket, IIRC.

Trainspotting 2, was the last one I've seen.

I saw Chocolate. I'm a sucker for a decent movie and especially a romance with a happy ending.
