There is one close to me, but it's really expensive. I think I'd need a second job. Ha. I hope one day I can take it up.

Eh my rock climbing gym has fatties in it as well. They try for like five minutes to climb the easiest section and then end up taking selfies and obnoxiously talking to their friends for an hour. Fuck fats man

Pretty much this. They still show up in our area, some even managed to obtain employment there (no idea how). Always obnoxious, smell bad, hog three routes on the ropes because they're not human width. No bouldering etiquette, always loitering under people climbing routes much harder than theirs. Disappointed the gril didn't take the chance to kick one whilst swinging off the wall.

I life next to a rock gym and near a rock quarry all the climbers know but I do see fat people go into the gym, but they usually climb a few walls and get out quick after huffing

There's a very nice bouldering place in my city, I went with a couple friends over the Christmas break. I was the 2nd fattest person I saw (first being one of my friends. I'm 6'0" 170lbs, he's 5'9" 170lbs (ish). It was pretty awesome.

I like being on top of rocks. Serenity and no fats, plus some fresh air and a workout https://i.imgtc.com/3zt9hYH.jpg https://i.imgtc.com/gHDCQJZ.jpg

I wish I was near one, here in Wales rock climbing is done outside mostly, I love it but don't get to do it anymore. In the UK sadly they wayyyy overcharge for things like rock climbing and abseiling, I bet it is part of the reason some don't get the chance to ever try it.

I love that there are shitlord havens after all, I would love to see a fat shit falling off the wall, they know they cannot lift themselves lmao. That is one thing I despise about fat fucks, they deny themselves so much of the human experience for something as basic as food, it begs belief!

I'll have to double check my nearest climbing place, there may be one an hour from me. There is some good climbing on my nearby mini mountain, near a waterfall too ;) I hope you are enjoying your climbing! I wish I could do it as much as you, I've been called Spiderwoman before now.

I love me some bouldering & rock-climbing. As you say these are shining beacons of fitness.

That said there are frequently fatties taking their children, or trying to have a go. Happily I never see the same fats twice, I guess they get too tired. (I admit the first time I climbed, here in Helsinki, I was a little scared the first time I saw the open stair-case going up nine-floors, or so. Hell of a climb, even before you do anything real!)

Hey there! I hope you don't mind my writing to you, It's awesome that you live in Helsinki, I love a lot of Finnish rock and metal and always wanted to visit the city, as a teenager I was a huge The Rasmus fan (I have met them too!) and still love them, as well as Nightwish and HIM. My fiancé and I are having "Sleeping Sun" by Nightwish as our wedding dance song :)

One day I think I will go to Estonia and get the ferry across to visit Helsinki, but then you guys have that amazing Lake District that I'd love to see too. I really want to attend a metal festival in Finland one day, I've only been to one (Amphi in Koln, Germany) but would love to attend more. Do you like living in Helsinki? Any tips for a traveller?

Don't mind contact at all, so long as it's not dull rants about how offensive my username is :)

I'm a recent immigrant, who moved from the UK. On the whole I love living here. Sure the winters are cold, dark, and bleak. But I oddly don't mind that at all. I do find the snow fun for a few days but then I slowly come to realize I hate it. Mostly because it is deep and fluffy for about five minutes, then becomes a hellish sheet of sheer ice which is deeply unpleasant to walk upon for the next two weeks. So the two common observations "The language is hard" and "The winters will kill you" are about 90% true. I've learned enough Finnish to talk to small children, but adults exhaust me. I'm getting there though.

As for nightwish, I'm a big fan too. Master, A dentist. Steven Seagal ;)

Travelling is hard because I'm new to the place. I know Helsinki, I know little else. The best I'd say is there is no shortage of museums, prettiness, and so on. But no doubt googling "Helsinki Tourist Ideas" would get you the kind of results which I could suggest. I suspect I'm less helpful in that regard ..

PS: This was a public comment, as was yours. If you want to message me you're welcome though, as are others who are local and want to be a good victim :)
