Once true democracy comes to HK, the west will use unlimited money to donate to the candidate of their choice whereas the other candidates would get nothing. This person would most likely be voted in. Then that person would be heavily under the influence of the west. It would not really be a true democracy. From that point of view, that is the reason why china insists that candidates need to be screened.

The article fails to mention the "offending" comments:
