Bingo! Me fat co-worker LOVES this one particular sushi restaurant because the portions are humongous (and they don't charge her for extra spicy mayo), and the prices are cheap. I ate there once and it was the most vile, disgusting sushi I ever had, and I had so much leftover.
I love sushi and have never had a time where it grossed me out, all sushi places are relatively similar, but this 'quantity over quality' one was nasty.

It's because they're disgusting addicts with no self control. They don't care about bankrupting themselves because their tiny little brains are too busy thinking about the next time they'll stuff their faces full of nutritionally-deficient garbage.

Exactly. This post made me think about a colleague of mine who was a heavy smoker, over two packs a day. That's a fortune to spend on cigarettes. One day I asked him how can he afford that, as at the time we were both on minimum wage, and his mind blowing answer was that sometimes he skipped rent, " but my landlord is cool with it". The addiction is the first and only priority in the addict's life. That's pretty terrifying actually

wow, im a smoker but if it got to the point where i couldnt pay my bills id suck it the fuck up and just go down to two cigarettes a day or something.

Yup. A normal person may spend disposable income on furniture upgrades, concert tickets, outdoor gear, home improvement supplies, the list go on. Not them. For them, it's garbage disposalble income.

Always wondered the same. Also, they always cry about how expensive it is to eat healthy*. You gotta understand that taxpayers usually fund those creatures to be able to afford so much food, too.
*healthy = their definition of healthy - organic bio non-gmo no pesticide gluten free super whole foods.

My money is on hammies thinking "Gluten free is just a whole new range of foods to eat, I'll spin it that it's actually healthier than regular foods, as an excuse to eat them!".
IIRC, It's actually worse for people who can stomach gluten.
Because Whole wheat is also a major source of dietary fiber, which the bowels need to work properly. Which is one of the many things you can't have going gluten-free.
And therefore can lead to unnecessary bowel-cancer risks in otherwise healthy people.

I had this same discussion with my husband, we usually eat home made meals, fruits, veggies, lots of fish since we live by the sea, but once in a blue moon I drive by local burger joint and bring some stuff home and holy shit this is exepnsive, I can't understand how people can do this once or twice a day, I have a full time job but couldn't keep up with this lifestyle if I wanted to.

Are you always disappointed by fast food, like I am? The cost is so much greater than the benefit.

Seriously, had my yearly Big Mac meal over Christmas and it was fucking $9 (granted this was in the Toronto airport). That's a shit ton of chickpeas.
[–] theepilepticferret 0 points 2 points 2 points (+2|-0) ago
I think that's the norm. I'm about an hour outside Toronto and last time I bought a BigMac meal it cost about the same
I eat home cooked meals the majority of the time because it tastes better and I know where the ingredients come from. Even buying quality foods it is much cheaper for me than to eat out at a fast food place, where you also know they're just using the lowest-cost questionable meat they can get their hands on. Fats I've seen at my work really rack up a high bill between their daily Starbeetus and their XL lunch orders with a bunch of sides, sugar drinks, and desserts. Then they hit the vending machine at least once a day and you know when they go home they're microwaving something out of a package for dinner and eating a bag of chips on the drive home. It's a lot of money that I wouldn't want to be wasting daily, especially when it's doing that to your body.

You're right, I find it expensive just for 2 coke, 2 hamburgers and a few French fries for 2 people, but I didn't put myself in the head of a fatty and now that's even more dramatic. Nah, I should have a side job to be able to afford this, but with this diet the stamina to work 2 jobs wouldn't last long.

I really get mad when I hear that somebody is fat because they 'can't afford expensive healthy food'. When I was really broke, I lost a bunch of weight just because I couldn't afford to eat as much as I should.
