Yes we can, if we change the way they are made.

I was more focused on uniquely stylish. wasn't really looking for another supercar that looks like a blister.

I'm not too keen on supercars myself. It's the design and building method I was pointing out. That is what I think will enable people to experiment with design in ways that haven't been possible before with the auto industry hegemony. It no longer takes astronomical amounts of capital (that has to be amortized over decades) to create a new vehicle or establish production.

We don't make most cars cool anyhow. Most of the time you get affordable or cool not really both.

yes, but... why not both? you got vans, sedans, pickups, and suvs. of these the only unique thing between companies are the names and the headlights.

because functional is easy but cool is hard it is a moving target what is cool when you start designing may not be when you are done. Plus some features are mandated not design choices, I think brake light height falls into this area. Crumple zones and other safety tests mean that they have to have some things built in and working around that but adding looks requires either adding tech or changing materials and adds cost.

They were never not cool, until they were outsourced and cheapened to plastic on metal parts.

yes this is a big part of it. henry would be fucking himself in the ass if he could see the shoddy craftmanship done in his name now.

The reason you'd never see a car that looks like that anymore is because they have to conform to a million traffic safety regulations. Ever wonder why the front bumper/hood area of new cars all have a similar curve to them? It's so they're safer if they hit pedestrians.
