National Park Service Banned From Tweeting After Anti-Trump Retweets

'The National Park service retweeted some sick Donald Trump burns, noting how, uh, lightly attended his inauguration was compared to Barack Obama’s in 2009. '

'The NPS later removed the retweets, but one NPS account has already noted it will cease tweeting. '

'Please ensure all scheduled posts are deleted and automated cross-platform social media connections to your twitter accounts are severed. '

'In summary, this Twitter stand down means we will cease use of Twitter immediately. '

'But now, the NPS has been ordered by its Washington support office to “immediately cease use of government Twitter accounts until further notice,” according to an internal email obtained by Gizmodo. '

This has been an automated message.

TBH any federal employee should be safely able to say what they want about the presidentdue to the 1st amendment. A judge, despite being a federal employee, should have great autonomy from the POTUS, as well as those under the purview of the senate. Now federal services/organizations/departments/whatever run directly by the president are a different matter.

Right, on your own time and on your own account if you're a civilian. If you're military, you're expected to keep your opinions to yourself really.

They should not able to say whatever they want in the capacity of a federal employee, I.e. using an official NPS Twitter acct to banter up the president on inauguration day. Pretty sure the social media intern that decided to do that is gone

It's also a fake claim using a photo that was taken several hours BEFORE the inauguration started. the majority of people hadn't arrived yet.

If you check photos taken during the event it was a full house..

And now we get to watch the people who bleated "Freedom of speech does not mean freedom of consequence" for the past two years demand freedom of consequence for their own speech.
