Never worked in my family. I don't recall one time getting out of going to school. Today they wouldn't want you there so as to not infect the others. But when I was a kid, it was tough it out. Also, had to walk 50 miles there and back through lava flows. God, I'm fucking old.

My mom trusted me to use her name to explain away truancies and absences. I skipped once to talked with a girl whom I got a red flag vibe from and later turned out she was wanting to commit suicide and my talking to her helped. The other time was to skip a test in order to help my grade because of stupid grading rules that averaged the missed score instead of counting it as a zero. There may have been a few other instances, but that's all I remember offhand. I was not a rebellious child, lol!

I member pretending to be sick, not quite selling it to mom, then get to school and daily go to the nurse to try my luck to get sent home. I wonder how much of a dent i put into their supply of disposable thermometer caps. I eventually wasnt allowed to go up there anymore. Fucking bastards. I just wanted to go home and play my cherished halo 2 campaign.
