I'm pretty sure representing Liberty as a woman predates the French as a nationality. Isn't it Roman?

It is an abstraction, a visual representation of an idea.

Couldn't care less. In modern times Freedom and liberty is something most people strive for, it is universal, not ethnic based. There are some cultures that goes against this, muslims for example, but blacks, blacks aren't part of this particular problem.

On one hand it's all a PC nonsense. On other hand I don't care.I still lean towards dislike of the idea of changing Iconic images to suit current PC culture.

I find it weird that all of these established characters and symbols are being turned into black people instead of making up new ones.

Also, black Lady liberty is so bland in her design. I'd rather get a coin with something unique like a baby anteater on it if I am expected to pay the premium for having a "special" coin. It's a good call releasing it in April, though. Black people who would normally be too poor to get this coin can buy it with their earned income credit. 💸 I'm black myself, but I'll be spending mine on white people's chocolate. 💰
