So much this, I'm building a VR game and don't even plan to bother with direct Rift support.
I don't want to touch the Facebook software with a 10 foot pole, and Steam VR supports Rift but not vice versa.
Much like Hotdogs Horseshoes and Hand Grenades I'm not planning to officially support oculus because I think their approach is harmful to the industry.

/v/VirtualReality and /v/vr are the most active I know of.
PCMR seems appropriate for Vive vs Facebook stuff though.

Suck it Zuckerberg, fuck Facebook

Facebook didn't buy it because it looked like a great video game development platform, they bought it because it will help visualize massively complex data systems. Facebook doesn't care if developers want something else, Facebook has a tool to integrate and show extraordinarily vast amounts of data easily.
If they can convince enough users to make 3d content they have a novelty feature for Facebook but for the most part its a tool for viewing the insanely complex database that Facebook owns and won't have to pay anyone else for.
