Bernie Sanders if he's still around. He can't be any less popular than Hilary for the right and DNC gave up a lot of younger voters by cheating him of a fair shot. Of course if Trump succeeds people could changes sides which would definitely make Bernie a non-starter. If not lets assume he gets zero votes from anyone on the right, Hilary did too so that's a wash but he could pickup younger voters who actually bother to show up that is and really healthcare is an important issue on the left and really a single payer system like almost everyone else in the civilized world has is what we really want. I think the idea is that if these kind of rate increases occurred and left won 2016 we would hold them up to the cost of medicare plans and say "See look at value for money between medicare and plans from private insurers. Combine that with the removing the limitation for the government to bargain for drugs purchased for the entire federal government system the way other countries do and it would likely be a slam dunk over the current for-profit system which costs companies and people a lot of wasted money.

More secure people make better workers and the entire burden of providing health care for employees would be lifted from employers which is a burden to them to administer and comply with regs, etc.

I seriously believe that the way the affordable health care act was written was really intended to show how wasteful the current system is and with the end goal of forcing a move to single payer which we wanted all along not really the compromise in Obamacare with private insurers.

But we didn't win so that obviously isn't going to happen since right wants to tear it all down without even having any clue about what they will replace it with. The thing everyone likes is the removal of preexisting condition restrictions from plans. That really can't self-sustain unless everyone is covered regardless off who is administrating it. So if there's not a law that requiring everyone to be covered it can't work regardless of who is administrating it so the right is going to have a lot of fun with that landmine.

At this point the split is so close that if right succeeds then it doesn't matter who runs in 2020 - left won't win. On the other hand if right/Trump fucks up by the numbers almost any one from left could win.
