This would be handy for users who mod smaller subs, however I think a single notification for each subverse would be sufficient rather than receiving an ocean of Personal Messages.

Perhaps this could be implemented fairly easily without too many new "moving parts" if Voat simply recorded the last date and time each user visited each subverse and compared that with the date and time of that sub's most recent submission.

Perhaps add a star or a color to both the mod list and subscribed list on the user's overview page?

You could just use the already existing RSS feed with a feed reader that sends you an e-mail when something new pops up.

True. Didn't really think about that.. I may create a little website that pings me for new content via the RSS feed.

Honestly, I end up refreshing Voat everyone couple of minutes. I also have a plugin that automatically refreshes select pages at set intervals just for this very reason.
