They come out with this every year and every year it is just as full of shit. I'm more interested in how many of my tax dollars go to pay the idiots who waste time on this than I am in how much a kid costs. There are many refutations of their numbers and methodology if you care to look, but I do not feel like repeating them all. At the end of the day, it boils down to the fact you could spend far, far less or far, far more on your kids. This is governmental clickbait, nothing more.
But those tax dollars are constant and apply whether you have kids or not. Whether you happen to like the system is beside the point. The question is how much will you will end up spending on a kid if you have one. This report does a terrible and misleading job of answering that.

It might be time to take a cue from the Muslims invading Europe. Have a religious marriage you keep from civil law knowledge and enroll on welfare programs to support your kids and save yourself some personal expense. Why shouldn't you take advantage of the system?
