mesmerizing, we need ways to photoshop people IRL. imagine if this was just what people looked like. actually we might need cars that drive themselves before we do that.

That's what I thought, but I wasn't sure. . . What do you think they did? Increased the contrast, for one thing?

Made the whites of the eyes white and bright. Obviously so.

The iris color has been enhanced. You can tell because the reflection on the surface is fucked up.

Skin tone is orange. So are freckles. And there's a lot of orange in the lips. Freckles are never that dark because those bad boys are brown. They decreased the luminance of the freckles to make them stand out (this is exactly what happens when you do that). They then went to various other areas brightening it back up (including the lips, see that sharp line at the bottom of the lip? Nothing in the face is actually a line but rather a gradient). The telltale here is the eye (on our left). See how the skin under it looks pink (normal)? That's what her true skin tone is in an underexposed photo.

The area inside the mouth has been touched up by brightening. The color of the hair in the upper left is blown out. You don't get blown out colors AND dark details at the same time in the same small area without blowing everything else out (and make no mistake, this is a crop or it was the shittiest digital camera in the history of ever). What likely happened is they shot just under on the exposure to get the bright hair (and pale skin) to even show up, brightened the whole damned thing (which washed out the freckles but gave us the teeth inside her mouth), decreased orange luminance to get us the freckles, and then red-shifted the hue of the nearly the whole damned thing using a graduated filter effect (notice that the shine on the hair is neither yellow nor white... it's pink). Because the shine on the hair is missing actual luster, you can tell that they pulled down the highlights and then touched up the reflection on the eye to compensate.
