That's understandable then, holidays and over time. I imagined initially someone just looking at two whole cheesecakes and thinking "I'll just have a litttle dessert".
Have to enjoy the pleasures of life and a great cheesecake is truly wonderful. Personally, I love Lemon Myrtle and Poppy seed with orange zest through the base. Mmmm.
But yeah, holy shit do you need to work it off after indulging.

Now that I think back I don't understand how I didn't gain weight from all the food i ate. Maybe i was moving around more and just didn't know it

Working back of house food service? Standing on your feet all day? High stress environment? 16 hour shifts? Tasting things constantly but never actually eating a meal?
From personal experience I can tell you, the combination of these is the best diet in the world, you have to eat like 4000 calories a day just to stay a stable weight. I lost 10kgs a year doing my apprenticeship.
You get paid to lose weight, but as with all intense diets it takes a toll on the body. Particularly if you're a saucier and tasting sauces all day, your mind gets very confused as to how much you've eaten.
