Well I'm convinced. Climate change isn't real. /s
Yeah./ You just gotta see the proof mang. The six month drought in that tropical island with a rain forest? All just a hoax by those jews trying to make us believe things are getting wilder because of ... those sheckles or something. It's all part of their master plan:
Invent climate change hoax.
Scare people.
?
Profit.

Fuck it, I'll bite.
I'm a monetarist. I voted for Trump because of his stance on regulation, taxation, and outsourcing. Lower taxes will kill coal. I hate to say it, but he lied to the rust belt, so he better make sure the next Elon Musk gigafactory is in Wisconsin or something. Renewables will thrive under Trump's plan, and they'll prove to be more economical than carbon fuels.
Moreover, I'm well aware that global climate change is happening at an alarming rate and is caused by humans. Where precisely is the plan to noticeably slow, let alone stop or reverse it?
That major hole in the argument for "climate change awareness" (notice it's about awareness, not actually solving the problem, just like countless other Liberal causes, BLM being a great example) is enough to make this a decent comment, but I'll go ahead and say something moderately insane next, because fuck it, class is boring today.
Global climate change will most certainly render the surface of the earth a Mad Max-y wasteland. But, on the bright side, adversity has always bred innovation. I bet that with the absence of an ozone layer, we'll work harder to cure cancer. That radical islamic terrorism will literally burn out. That space travel will finally seem important. And if you ask me, Earth is overcrowded. Oh, and if it happens, society will crumble and we can start over with a new constitution with more amendments, (like, 10X more, all worded more specifically) cause you know I love muh freedoms.

Spoken like a true college kid. Completely ignorant, but you believe you're absolutely correct.
So let me sum up your argument: Climate change is going to fuck the planet, but you believe instead of dealing with it now let the earth scorch to the point that we have global catastrophes because THEN we might do something about it. Oh, and a lot of people will die, which is a good thing to you. I'm sure that's good as long as you and your friends, family, society aren't the one who die though.
Any chance you're willing to speed up the process and kill yourself now so that you stop impeding the solutions?

Lol, funny thing about that is the latter half of my comment was supposed to be a joke. The beginning half, I think, makes a lot of sense, which is why you clearly don't have an argument against it.

Just as i was not worried about y2k, 2012 Mayan calendar apocalypse or the second coming of jeezus apocalypse couple of years ago im not worried about global warming scare mongering. In fact i would like it to be real because fuck winter.
[–] Dortex1 0 points 2 points 2 points (+2|-0) ago
Not particularly. Thing is, the only real change is just in the talk. Do you think politicians actually ever gave a damn about climate change? If they did, they'd have done something about it, like commission new Nuclear plants and invest in safer, more efficient designs, replace intersections with roundabouts, replace the old, inefficient electric grid with something new, or at least less crumbly, and hundreds of other things. Trump's just expressing publicly what those pieces of shit were thinking privately.

Nope, because I was told for at least 20 years how global warming is a thing, but I never noticed anything. Pretty sure global warming is either a lie or blown out of proportions. If global warming was as bad as I was told it would be 20 years ago than this winter would feel like a summer. (And I wouldn't be opposed to that.)
Besides, all the bad stuff that is supposed to happen because of global warming doesn't affect me. I can live with rising sea water and droughts just fine.
