Pretty solid example of why "slippery slope!" is not a valid reason by itself to dismiss an argument. This would have been parody material 10 years ago.

Not all faith traditions have holidays in December

This is true. 100%true. But what is also true is that EVERY city, EVERY state, EVERY person has a stat and school holiday in December. Not all faiths have a holiday in December, but every single person has a holiday in December.

"Holidays" include Thanksgiving and New Years which are not religious. Also, not all fiscal years end in December.

You've got to think that every time they open their mouth they are just trolling us.

Thank you for sharing! The source material is incredible: http://www.twu.edu/news/11-21-16-festivus-for-the-rest-of-us.asp

I encourage everyone to read that and contemplate the comedic level of doublethink...

EXAMPLE 1:

Consider naming the party, if it is scheduled for December, without using the word "holiday." “Holiday” connotes religious tradition and may not apply to all employees.

VERSUS

Try to assemble and include a diverse group of employees in the planning of the party. This would include, as much as possible, non-Christian employees of Muslim, Jewish, Hindu...

EXAMPLE 2:

Avoid religious symbolism

VERSUS

Choose a multicultural playlist that reflects all faith traditions...
