I don't find anything extreme about this. Especially in our current modern context wherein extremism usually implies violence.

There was violence and threats to burn down the homes of mixed couples.
This issue has been going on since the 80's.
Kahnawake is a shithole run by gangsters,..... aka the "Mohawk warrior society" who deal drugs, run guns, prostitution..etc... much like the Hell's Angel's are just a bunch of "motorcycle enthusiasts".
