I live in Mongolia, and it is common to point out when someone is fat or skinny. For example, I put on like 5kg in the past year (still not fat by any means, I was just skinny before). My friends would be like, dude you are getting fat you better keep that shit in check, and I appreciate their honesty about it. Even with women, it's not taboo to call a fat woman fat, as long as you keep it lighthearted and friendly.

Now my father however, he's old, and he's fat as shit. People will literally make fun of him at gatherings. They'll be like "holy shit you're fat."

And the same for unhealthily skinny people, although things like anorexia and bulimia almost does not exist here.

God I wish our culture was more like that. I would enjoy shitlording people way too much.

I feel sad after reading all these. Remember when like a decade or so ago, when fat wasn't beautiful in America as well. It's horrible that we can't call a fat person fat.

Shitlording is quite common in france. Feminazis are trying to make it a frowned-upon thing, thought. For the vast majority, a fat person is seen as not very valuable on any level.

Feminazis are hurting women more than all the oppressive men in history combined. France though, fashion capital and all I don't think there will be too many overweight people waddling about.

I do worry about some of the anorexic models they used to use, but I've found more and more French fashion houses are using women who are... buff. Like, they have pretty damn decent muscle tone on them. Of course they would be 'skinnny', but we're far from using the truely anorexic models of the 90's anymore. And I love that.

It's slowly going away, but in Australia, it's not really looked down upon. You're considered a lazy dole bludger or a boring office worker.

I remember at school we only had two kids who were fat. We made fun of them relentlessly, and when they went to the teachers for help, the teachers consoled them like they're paid to do, but also said "You should consider losing weight". They also banned junk food from our lunch boxes.

I wouldn't ever want to be fat in Oz. The men and the women are so damn beautiful. Also I think you guys are outdoorsy and much more active.

It's so EASY to be an out doorsy person here. It is literally the middle of winter, and you wanna know what I am wearing? Cotton shirt and long pants with socks. In the colder places, you barely need more than an extra jacket. I've been skiing here, and I ended up having to take off the cold weather stuff because it was so hot under the sun. In summer, just go outside when the sun is down like everyone else.

We have public well maintained hiking trails, amazing public exercise spaces, SPECIALLY in low soceioeconomic areas, foot paths, and amazing free programs to help you lose weight with your FREE doctor and FREE nutritionist and FREE exercise program with FREE trainers.

But what do these fat fucks do? They complain that it's not 'accessible'. The claim that some of the cheapest produce in the country is 'too expensive', or that they 'don't like it'.

Being fat is a waste in Australia. And drop bears go for fatties first.

Indonesia, Thailand and Cambodia from my personal experience. I'm in Jakarta at the moment and just watched some brutal shitlording of a girl by her family. Pretty much told her she needs to fast all year round not just now (ramadan), but far more descriptive.

It's not even a beauty issue anymore, the Western world is actively telling people being obese is healthy. At least the rest of the world is being sane.

Thailand is sadly reaching the HAES tipping point. Too much fast food. Too many fatties claiming they're healthy in private, even if the public reaction to fat is disgust.

From what I've seen, most places that aren't America. Not just when it comes to weight, either. Foreigners are brutally honest, and I love them for it.

South Korea I guess... my friends from there seem to notice every little pound I gain or lose, and sometimes even being average looking here in America can seem overweight to them.

The reason I asked this question is because I saw the Korean film "200 pounds of beauty".

Oh interesting, I've never watched it. There was lots of shitlording I'm guessing? Was it good?

I'm Turkish. There's no feminism, no fat acceptance and no social justice here.Everybody calls each other out when they gain weight, no hard feelings.Being fat is frowned upon by pretty much everyone I have ever known. Some don't express it but if you ask them you'll find the quiet ones are the same.

I hate how fat acceptance has become so synonymous with feminism :( However, I'm heartened by these replies, the rest of the world isn't going mad. What are the chances of Tess Monster appearing in a Turkish advertisement :p

None. She'd kill herself the second she stepped foot in here because of the ridicule.I had never even heard of her until I found FPH.I mentioned this whole FA deal to some people I know and nope, it's never gonna happen. We've got a damn blunt culture and I don't see special snowflakes getting airtime here anytime soon.

I'll be moving to the US for college soon though and FPH makes me want to reconsider everytime! Perhaps I should stop browsing 'till I get there o_o
