I live in Mongolia, and it is common to point out when someone is fat or skinny. For example, I put on like 5kg in the past year (still not fat by any means, I was just skinny before). My friends would be like, dude you are getting fat you better keep that shit in check, and I appreciate their honesty about it. Even with women, it's not taboo to call a fat woman fat, as long as you keep it lighthearted and friendly.

Now my father however, he's old, and he's fat as shit. People will literally make fun of him at gatherings. They'll be like "holy shit you're fat."

And the same for unhealthily skinny people, although things like anorexia and bulimia almost does not exist here.

I feel sad after reading all these. Remember when like a decade or so ago, when fat wasn't beautiful in America as well. It's horrible that we can't call a fat person fat.
