An obnoxious drunk is clinging to your cab, even after you've refused service to her (which is your right). She's banging on the windows and yanking the door handle. To avoid her fucking up your cab you start driving away, faster and faster, until she finally lets go. Checking your side view mirror you see she fell down.
Do you:
A. Immediately stop your cab and call an ambulance just in case the violent drunk has a traumatic brain injury?
B. Drive away; she only just fell down, and it's her own damn fault for holding onto a moving vehicle
C. Run her over to kill her, so that you don't have to pay her medical expenses.
If you said C then you're in China, and I can't help you. But B is a perfectly valid and sane option.
I'm with the cab driver on this one. Unless she was physically attached to the cab (scarf caught in the door or something), she chose to hold onto the car, and she should deal with the consequences with as much of her remaining brain as she can.
If she hadn't gotten a serious injury this would've just been another normal night in a major city where idiots drink themselves retarded, and the cab driver's actions would've been necessary to protect his vehicle. He was also fully justified in refusing service to an unruly drunk.
