That's a... curious appointment.

I'm not sure how to feel about Carson in general, but wasn't he a rather crooked doctor?

So my mom has an old college friend who worked with Ben Carson when he was still doing neurosurgery and boy does my moms friend have respect for him. She says that the moment he Stepped onto the floor everything go quiet and he used to respectfully demand respect of those who was working for him. He knew what he was doing and what he needed to do to get it done but never did it in an arrogant or stuck up way like most doctors are.

This guy separated a set of new born twins who were conjoined at the head and they lived. He knows what he's doing not just in medicine but also in management.

Carson is among the few that hasn't spit on donald 24/7 during his entire campaign.

True. Besides the administration there of is highly dependent upon execution of existing law. Not like Carson has to reinvent anything to make it not work any more than it does now

It's been fucked up since the new deal. Ie, when the feds started getting involved in urban planning.

Urban planning is not something you learn by playing Sim City or Cities Skyline. It requires an higher education.

I'm not saying he should only promote bureaucrats and professional polticians, I'm saying he should promote someone with at least some knowledge of the job. Carson might be a decent pick for health (because it's actually his field) but for urban planning I'd be thinking civil engineers, economists, developers etc.

He had some opinions on architecture in the middle east.

You're referring to Carson's contention that the pyramids built to be grain silos? Right, he'll be great for HUD/s.

Trump is a smarter strategist than that.

Strange choice. I'm assuming it's a combined political favor and the selection of a person that Trump and his team are confident will follow their plan and do as he's told. Not the worst way to choose cabinet members, I suppose.
