I got my first portable cd player and CDs in a poker game while in high school. The CDs included this Nirvana album along with Temple of the Dog and some other stuff.

Good Charlotte: Lifestyles of the Rich and Famous. I think they had something at Walmart that you could listen to The Anthem through. I used three weeks of allowance money on it.

I spent countless hours with my friends at Borders and Tower Records sampling different albums like that. There's something about having the music on a physical medium that you can physically browse through that's so great.

i worked at tower records in Ann Arbor Mi. I had to take a test on music knowledge. it sucked, i wasnt allowed to leave the counter. i was there about a month before i quit. but i do remember the listening stations and being the "cool guy" amonsts my peers, because i worked in music. lol. i was working behind the counter at tower records when word spread that gerry garcia died. it was huge.
