Of course the Clinton Machine was "playing" to win too. But they sold their souls and lost anyway, because they were simply too ugly for anyone around them to stomach, except for the other sociopaths. And one of their own brought them down.

I love this point. Exactly what happens when you create a network of sociopaths. They are pathological self-serving opportunists, and if they feel they aren't being "serviced" properly they'll throw your whole empire under a bus for some quick ego-stroking or self-indulgence. They are tireless and creative foot-soldiers when they think they're on the winning side, or part of some unified grasp at power with attendant expansion of personal influence, but they're all ticking time-bombs of insanely momentary self-interest.

The micro-second one of these assholes smells a safe deal on the table, he'll turn on all the others. Currently it's likely the FBI etc are too riddled with pizza freaks to come forward and sell everyone out without getting offed, though. Likely we'll see a bunch of "warning deaths" turning up like David Hamilton the other day, trying to keep the troops in line. But I think it's only a matter of time til one either jumps at a protection deal or gets caught out in their own "side-project" and turns over the goods on the big players.
