I too love music. Although I tend to stick with bands and genres who use instruments. However that doesn't mean I don't occasionally find myself listening to some hip hop or rap.

I have no idea actually, It's just kinda something you know when you hear. It's like a little heavier, slightly experimental chord progressions. Very melody heavy, based on powerful simple melodies. I have no idea though, I'm just saying what i think it is. It's whatever you want it to be! As for real vs. fake instruments, I feel that if a song is good enough, it shouldn't matter how it's being made in to reality and what sounds are making it. I see where electronic peeps are coming from. Writing music is easy, recording music is hard and expensive. Viva technology!
So what would you call some alt rock bands then? Like linkin park or something? I'm just curious as I have no idea what genre a lot of my music falls into you know? Like where does the white stripes fall?
Yeah it's just my tastes. I can sometimes listen to electronically created music. But since I play guitar I enjoy bands that incorporate actual instruments.
There's a few bands that utilize electronic stuff that I enjoy. Perhaps some of my prejudice is watching a bunch of kids I went to school with producing shitty dubstep and other such nonsense.

What exactly defines alt rock?
