Funny you mention this, I had a similar conversation with my boss and co-worker today (both black). They were talking about all of the hate that Trump breeds and how they could never vote for someone who advocates so much violence. I bring up these riots that have been happening these past few days and that this didn't happen when Obama was elected. They lost their minds.
"There's no way you can compare what's happening right now to the 200 years of racism ingrained in society"
"Alright but that doesn't make the riots happening right now okay"
"You could never even begin understand what you're talking about here. That's the problem with white privilege."
The crazy thing is, I'm ~1/4 black. I just don't happen to look it. My hair is frizzy straight and light brown and my skin is fairly light but my whole dads side of the family is black. While I don't experience the struggles day to day, I am not ignorant to the 'black plight'. My mom raised me on her own and shit was tight sometimes, eating bread for a few days between pay-days, that kind of stuff.
So to hear this complete crap about white privilege is just aggravating. I've seen failures and successes from all sorts of people from all walks of life. This assumed victimized mentality that we see time and time again is so misguided and the black community seems to use this misguided reasoning to justify white racism. It's just insane.

Ya, I really don't understand their perception of reality. Every example they have was basically white people being a community. They support local businesses, they fund/support their schools, they don't kill or rob each other... They just give a shit about each other.
The only time we hear calls for the death of a race is to kill white people, the only time we hear came for the death of a gender it's to kill men, all while white men are demonized for suggesting others join that community instead of destroying it. A black man is safer in the worst white community than the best black community, and that's because of white racism? I'm the sexist/transphobic/racist/bigot because I don't think behavior and gender are related, we all equal and am that divides us are our choices, and criticize the religion that openly practices slavery, woman enslavement, honor killings, killing gays, and pedophilia? It's an absolute mad house.

White privilege is having to pay your own way through life without government assistance
