Driving with undiagnosed or untreated sleep apnea presents a safety hazard, so it’s common sense to address the issue.
You would think it would be common sense and yet this article exists because there is an argument as to whether drivers should be awake or asleep when operating multi-ton machinery. I'm shocked fat doesn't kill more bystanders than it does.

I think it's under-reported, at least in the US. And this is just one of the ways fat costs both in money and lives -- this issue directly affects my clients in my line of work and things are getting much worse before they ever get better.

THIS bullshit. It's like saying that firing food handlers because they tested positive for TB or rabies is discriminatory, jesusfuckingchrist. Weight is an objective, real fucking world red flag that a fatfuck is a sleep apnea risk among other industry-killing disasters.
But onto the good news a.k.a. TL;DR of this:

That weight discrimination is a thing shows we have things too good on the whole. Or rather the gluttons are becoming a protected sub-species (they're defintely not human) because of their child-like whining and behaviour. They should also be timed on evacuation procedures in tall buildings and planes etc. to avoid killing others before being given licence to work/travel.
I hope more of their bullshit is thrown out by courts in the coming years and people in authority grow some fucking spine.
