I don't take people seriously when they're fuzzy about their workout routine.

I can tell you precisely what workout I'm going to do tonight, tomorrow, and every day for the foreseeable future in the absence of injury.

And "injury" doesn't mean sore legs, back, etc. Injury means I got hurt playing soccer bad enough that I had to stop playing and wait for it to heal.

I run 2-4 miles every few days

Fatty means they move their feet at a pace that leaves them sweaty and out of breath. So, 1-2 miles an hour? Meaning they maybe walk at a snail's pace for an hour a day.

Averaging 8 miles a week

If hammy did this seriously, it would know that running shoes are in no way one-style-fits-all and buying the cute, colorful neutral support shoes over the basic colored flat-footed monster shoe is asking for injury. And in no way the fault of the shoe.

PS: attempting to run 3x in one week and injuring yourself, presumably with your flailing fat, does not qualify you as a "runner".

I was at Marshall's and found these Nikes on clearance for $40: (Edit: won't let me post link... they are Nike women's flex supreme tr4.)

I wanted to read some reviews before buying and it's so annoying that feedback is always skewed by obese people. It wasn't the shoes that hurt your knees, it was your superfluous body fat!

Anyway, great buy at that price. I usually buy cross trainers. I do mostly bodyweight / gymnastics but run once or twice a week (short distance). I don't usually do well with running shoes. I feel like they weaken my ankles. If I'm just doing bar work or bodyweight circuits indoors I don't wear any shoes at all.

I run in vivobarefoot shoes and I love it. Highly recommend. Never had any injuries or issues

I always look for as little drop (difference in heel thickness and forefoot thickness, in mm) as possible so feeling the floor is better and you have your natural balance in play without unneeded cushioning.

My trainer does fitness and powerlifting competitions and says that Converse is the only non-sport specific shoe they allow in competitions. Maybe start there and see about whether or not you want to think investing?

I have New Balance Vazees but they're a 4mm drop, I only use them because they were free vs. $40 for converse at an outlet store.

I was going to go ahead and get some converse, because while I've only been lifting ~6 months (4x/week) I definitely want to continue and have no plans of ever stopping. I figure I should invest some money into some different shoes, but the shoes that are "best" for weightlifting, as far as I've read, are just stupid expensive (to me, but so are running shoes). The only reason I haven't so far is price, tbh.

Thanks for the advice, though. I'll try some chucks and see!
