I second this comment, wait for roots and then pot then replant where ever, or wait till the plant goes to seed, collect and sprinkle seeds (there will be a lot) enjoy a ton of new catnip plants!
(buy rooting powder for softwood should help but not really necessary- follow directions, willow branch clippings may help encourage a stem to make roots when put into the same jar/bucket of water)

a cat probably peed on it. you should really grow it in a container so it doesnt take over

No cat in my house, i place it in my room (shade). Its doenst show i too much watering it. Why?????
