Most sources I could find say that between 50 and 100 cops are killed intentionally in the line of duty every year. That's not a lot. In fact, being a cop is far less dangerous than being a construction worker.

So is being a soldier, if going by likelihood of death or serious bodily harm.

Yeah, but soldiers are meant for exactly these scenarios.

So are cops.

They're meant to have shoot-outs and they're expected to have to pull others into cover.

Cops absolutely are expected to have to pull their wounded to cover. Well, they used to be before women decided they wanted "equal" rights to be a cop.

Cops, not so much. I think most of you have watched too many cop dramas.

I think you're making assumptions here.
