Non-profits are largely a scam. For example a lot of them only give 10% to charity and the rest goes to female administrators with egos who are feminists. I would rather give coins to a man on the street who will likely just spend it on booze to give him a moment of comfort.

You're still upset about a 200-year old slave revolt?

Little respect for people who, six years after the earthquake, have left 90% of the rubble still lying in the streets. They've managed to produce bumper yields of babies each year though! Where is the point in constantly forking out aid if they won't pick themselves up and try to stand on their own??

Haitians are urging people not to give money to American Red Cross | The Independent
'Yet accompanying many requests for aid comes a warning – do not give your money to the American Red Cross (ARC). '
'Responding to the report, the American Red Cross said in a statement it was “disappointed, once again, by the lack of balance, context and accuracy in the most recent reporting by ProPublica and NPR”. '
'As the death count after Hurricane Matthew approaches 900 and reports of deadly cholera outbreaks begin to surface, Haitians have sent out desperate pleas for help. '
'Instead, an estimated 55,000 Haitians are still living in tents or other makeshift shelters and few advances in disaster planning have been implemented. '
'Yet critics argue that the money was not used so Haiti could be “built back better”, as officials had promised. '

I stopped donating to the ARC once I heard how much their upper management made. Give to the Salvation Army. You get more bang for your buck.
