A big one that is gonna keep me here is I can go to posts and not have the fucking downvote button removed. I shouldn't have to change the "style" of the subverse just to be able to vote down. I get that reddit wants to encourage support and not downvoting people but I think it's getting out of hand on so many of the subs. I don't love downvoting but taking that away from users is so goddamn juvenile. There's no point in having a vote system if you can't do both.

I lurked for a long time and created my account a little before the Exodus.
I am not going back to reddit, I find here to be way better. It is not only the matter of censorship (which I find very important) but also the community here seams better, the discussions are more interesting. I really hope that Voat does not becomes reddit 2.0, with threads filled with puns and silly jokes that add nothing, instead of actual discussion.

Hopefully I'll be here long term. I like seeing the upvote/downvote counter. I don't like having to go through the initial phase of being limited on upvotes and downvotes. Once the communities grow some, it will all round out.
I came to voat in the censorship mass migration.

I'd like to switch permanently if possible, just depends on if it can get active and populated enough here.
The community from what I've seen so far does seem much better, but that may just be because of how small it is comparatively, will just have to see what happens i guess.

I plan on staying here. I came to Voat after the whole FPH thing, never visited the sub but the censorship and advertising was getting out of hand. It's clear to me that Reddit is essentially unfixable at this point and Ellen Pao is just making it worse so...here I am. I still have an account with reddit but I unsubbed from all the defaults, only using it when i'm bored and can't get on Voat.

I'm going to stay, it feels good to get in on that proverbial ground level. Reddit was too circlejerky and I lot tired of seeing the same inside jokes over and over. Also the voting system seems better thought out.
