I never liked Reddit and rarely used it. You can't even look at the ugly mess of a site. It is so mid 2000's. Blue links? Meme after meme? Pun after Pun? That's all it is.
I tried to upload a trailer doc, did not mark it TRAILER, they had a big discussion between mods on it and when someone mentioned VOAT and I said I would take a look there to see if I could upload my Doc trailer I IMMEDIATELY got a message I was banned from documentaries.

I plan on staying. This place gives me a chance to submit content and not just be ignored or down-voted to hell. Reddit's censorship also just pissed me off. I believe in freedom of expression and access to information. I understand they are a private corporation and can run the site as they will. But I also do not have to support them if our values do not align. Plus, they took away FPH, which was one of the biggest reasons I even used the site. There are plenty of cat pictures here as well to keep me satisfied.
My staying depends on how the community grows. You can't "join" reddit, you make an account and make comments that will be drowned out by everyone else who has been there for longer than you. Voat is small enough that doesn't happen, and the community makes it sound like that won't happen. I plan on staying for a while, especially since reddit is probably going to shrink anyways now.

I will be here and there until voat becomes a little more mainstream, you can't pass the content reddit has with such a low user base and less content creators

When I first started browsing Reddit (admittedly it was only about 2 years ago), everything felt fresh. Now, a lot of the post titles felt clickbaity. Then there was the drama, and the meme trains, and the tired pun threads (which were funny at first, but quickly lost their appeal). That's part of why I'm here. But I also like contributing and being heard.
