I don't want to make silly guesses (as all mine would be) but I am really eager to see if Voat can bring something more than a clone to the table. If they think they have a revolutionary idea, I wish them the best of luck.

This, for the moment it really looks like a clone of reddit. If he can change this more users will come here not because "muh freedom" but because it offers something better than reddit.

I don't really see it as just a clone. It has quite a similar idea, but the entire site feels a lot more polished and up-to-date.

I just wish I could opt out of the blue/purple theme. Not sure why, it may be the pastel-likeness of the blue or the purple-that's-almost-pink that gets to me but it just doesn't sit well for me at the moment.

If it's patent worthy then I'm excited just anticipating what it will be. It would be nice to see something like Reddit but still unique in design. Coupled with a more discussion oriented environment, Voat has appealed to me much more. Reddit has changed dramatically in the last six years I've been there, and not in a good way. I'm not going to guess what the patent is. I prefer to be surprised.

Oh man, I hope we're all getting rad matching voat jackets. Are rad matching jackets patented?
I could imagine something like an open-"source" website, where you not only create subverses, but actually can build parts of the site with your own code (I don't know if its been done before)
orrrr...maybe even better and a different idea, make voat user-owned, so for example you decide to rent a "share" of voat, which would mean that you pay a mothly rent for running the website and paying the bills and employees and owning a part of the site. That way we could ensure that no one can buy the website and turn it into a money-machine since no one owns the full company. Which would prevent any kind of takeover like happened to "the site that must not be named".
I am aware that my concept doesnt correlate with the word "use" but its an idea I thought worth sharing nonetheless.
