It does a lot more than online petitions. People sign things like that all the time, but people only tend to call en masse when the issue is something that will affect their vote.

That only works as long as those IP addresses remain static, if they are changed for any reason (and there are a few circumstances this can happen) you will no longer have a working IP address.

I rarely take the time to call my congressman rather than just write but there are only a couple days left to do something about this and Congress seems to be content with ignoring the issue. I called and gave my congressman (or rather their staffer) a piece of my mind.

I urge all of you to do the same. I know the Voat community has a lot of strong support for free expression, let's do everything in our power to ensure the community can continue to exist.
