At least it's not from Sony. And hey, Takeshi Kitano. But this director, his only really known work is 'Snow White and the Huntsman.'
I'm not holding out too much hope. At least we have Blade Runner to look forward to in the cyberpunk arena, that's got serious people on it.

Yeah, has the smell of cheap, popcorn marvel-like action flick all over.
I watched Ex Machina around the time information about Ghost in the Shell started to come out and thought to myself - this is true GitS. And it really is, in everything but the plot, but IMO plot is always secondary with GitS, it's ideas and atmosphere that carry it.

+1 for Ex Machina. Dealt with similar ideas to GitS in a very interesting and emotionally compelling way. I love it when a film can do that without needing a AAA budget.
